Jemez Fine Art Gallery News:

The Jemez Fine Art Gallery welcomes back local artists Harriette Lawler and Myra Maher to the Jemez Fine Art Gallery in their exhibition entitled “Gestating a Mystery”.

Lawler’s sculptures have been exhibited and sold around the world. She has also had sculpture commissions in London and Los Angeles. Her work comes home to New Mexico this November, to be exhibited alongside Maher’s paintings and drawings, Nov. 14-28.

The gallery is open daily except Tuesdays and Thanksgiving Day. The exhibit comes down  Nov. 28.

The community is invited to attend a reception to meet the artists and their works, from noon to 3 p.m., on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 23. The reception will include “good food, music, and good conversation, enlightening mysteries seen and unseen”.

The artist’s works, while very different in medium and in subject matter, similarly evoke a sense of wonder and delight. Lawler is a life-long, well-known, international sculptor whose works in metal capture and play with the light, as well as “putting light on the stirrings deep within us that we often cannot explain”.

Maher is working to return to her original calling to be an artist, working in oil, charcoal, and graphite. Her works have a luminosity and perspective, “which pulls you in, as if in a dream-like state”.

The Jemez Fine Art Gallery is in the heart of the village of Jemez Springs in the Jemez Mountains at 17346 N.M. 4, about an hour north of Albuquerque.

For more information, call Maher at 505.974.0795 or Lawler at 575.829.4567, or Jemez Fine Art Gallery at 575.829.3340.
