PEEC News:

Looking for a fun way to celebrate the season with your family and friends? The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites community members of all ages to the Holiday Eco Ornament Drop-In 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road. Admission is free, no registration required.

This festive, family-friendly craft day offers everything you need to design unique, New Mexico–themed ornaments and eco-friendly holiday decorations. PEEC will provide a wide variety of recycled and repurposed supplies, along with plenty of inspiration, so you can craft ornaments that celebrate both the beauty of our state and the spirit of sustainability.

Most of the ornaments created at the event will help decorate Los Alamos County’s 2025 Holiday Tree, part of a community-wide effort to create 500 handmade ornaments using at least 50% recycled or repurposed materials. At the same time, participants are welcome to make a few creations to take home and enjoy throughout the season.

The Holiday Eco Ornament Drop-In is a wonderful way to slow down, create something meaningful, and share time with loved ones while contributing to a community-wide project. Come craft with us, get inspired, and be part of something joyful and creative this season.
