COMMUNITY News:
Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse invites the community to join the “Shop Local with Richard Scarry” event Saturday, Nov. 29 for a fun sticker-collecting exploration around town. Pick up a sticker booklet from Samizdat, collect stickers at four local businesses, and return to Samizdat with a completed booklet to collect a prize, with a special bonus prize for the first to complete their booklet.
Participants will be able to collect stickers at Close-Knit Yarn Co-Op, Fuller Lodge Art Center, Petree Garden Center & Florist, and Village Arts.
Samizdat will have buttons to give away as prizes for everyone who has completed their booklet with all four stickers (until they run out).
Nov. 29 is Small Business Saturday, and Samizdat has all sorts of new surprises for holiday shopping: candles, socks, loose leaf teas, cards, and adorable stocking stuffers. But mostly Samizdat will have lots and lots of excellent books, in a newly expanded space, if people haven’t been in since the summer. And for the holidays, the bookstore will also have fun book bundles and themed sets of furoshiki-wrapped books for easy gifts.
Samizdat Bookstore and Teahouse at 174 Central Park Square, will be open early at 9 a.m. Nov. 29 for this event. The shop is typically open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and 5-8 p.m. on Mondays for Supper Club. Find out more at @samizdatbookstore on Facebook, @samizdat_bookstore on Instagram, and at samizdatbookstore.com (where special orders can be placed online to pick up in store).
