NMDOT News:

TAOS — The Rio Grande Gorge Rest Area will be closed on May 19 and May 20 to begin parking lot preservation work.

The scope of work includes crack sealing, fog sealing, and restriping of parking spaces and shoulders. During this project, there will be multiple days over the course of several weeks when the rest area will need to be closed for parking lot maintenance activities.

The initial closure is scheduled for May 19 and May 20 to allow for crack sealing preparation and crack sealing operations. Following the curing period, the contractor, American Road Maintenance Inc., will proceed with fog sealing and re-striping the parking area.

The closure dates for the next stages are being finalized and will be communicated once confirmed. The New Mexico Department of Transportation is committed to the safety of the traveling public and appreciates your cooperation during this work.
