SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Striders are proud to announce the 4th Annual Running Festival offering 5K and 10K races as well as 5 free kids’ races on Saturday, July 18, 2026. This year’s event invites runners of all ages to enjoy scenic views of the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
The 5K and 10K races begin at 8 a.m. at the Municipal Recreation Sports Complex, located at 205 Caja Del Rio Road. Both courses utilize the dirt trails surrounding the complex.
The 5 free kids’ races will follow a rolling schedule with distances based on age groups:
- Ages 3-4: 200 meters
- Ages 5-6: 400 meters
- Ages 7-8: 800 meters
- Ages 9-10: 1 mile
- Ages 11-14: 2 miles
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top overall male, female and non-binary finishers in the 5K and 10K events. Awards will also go to the first-place male and female masters (40+) and the top finishers in the following age groups: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-70 and 80+.
“We are proud to offer races inclusive of all ages, genders, abilities, and backgrounds,” says Loretta Dodson, race director. “The races celebrate the sport of cross country and are a great way for high school runners to test their summer fitness. If participants ran cross country in high school or college, we encourage them to wear their team singlet.”

- Packet Pickup: 7–7:50 a.m., July 18
- Race Day Registration: 7–7:50 a.m., July 18
- 5K & 10K Start: 8 a.m. at Municipal Recreation Sports Complex
- 5 Free Kids’ Races Start: 9:30 a.m. at Municipal Recreation Sports Complex
- Post-Race Festivities: Awards Ceremony

Online Registration is available at santafestriders.org for $45 until July 16. Race day registration will be available for $50
