The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is excited to continue the Nature at Night: Summer Series throughout July, generously sponsored by Del Norte Credit Union. July continues our summer of collaboration, bringing together organizations from across north-central New Mexico to offer hands-on, family-friendly nature experiences Join us on Wednesday evenings in July from 4 to 6 p.m., with featured presenters beginning at 5 p.m. Free and open to all ages, these events invite the community to explore nature, connect with local organizations, and discover something new each week.
July 2026 Program Lineup:
July 1 — Storytime! with the Mesa Public Library
Enjoy a magical evening of nature-themed stories and family fun at Nature at Night: Summer Series! Join our local librarians for a free interactive storytime experience filled with imagination, discovery, and outside fun.
July 8 — Santa Fe Children’s Museum
Get ready for an evening of creativity, curiosity, and hands-on fun with the Santa-Fe Children’s Museum at the Nature Center. They will bring their signature approach to encourage exploration and spark wonder for all ages.
July 15 — Worms and Wildflowers
Dig into the hidden world beneath your feet! Join Worms and Wildflowers Nature School for a free, family-friendly evening of soil exploration, worm encounters, and hands-on activities.
July 22 — IMAP Education Team
Blast off into discovery with IMAP researchers in a free, family-friendly evening exploring NASA science and the exciting mysteries of our solar system.
The new Nature at Night: Summer Series, formerly known as Summer Family Evenings, builds on a beloved local tradition by bringing in a wider range of partners, presenters, and interactive experiences. With support from Del Norte Credit Union, PEEC offers these programs free of charge, ensuring that families across the region can enjoy accessible, enriching nature experiences all summer long.

PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies. PEEC operates the Los Alamos Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Road, holds regular programs and events, and hosts several interest groups, from birding to hiking to butterfly watching. PEEC activities are open to everyone; however, members receive exclusive benefits such as discounts on programs and gift shop merchandise. Annual memberships start at $35.
