Romero Is Top Predictor In This Week’s Pace Race

Ted Romero was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held at Pinon (Rocket) Park in White Rock.  He was 14 seconds off his predicted time. 

Other accurate predictors were: 

  • Edith Acosta with an 18 second differential
  • Ted Atkins, Sr. recording a 26 second difference
  • Eric Anderson at 28 seconds off and was also the top finisher in the 3-mile distance at 19:17
  • Tomas Karella at 30 seconds off

On the 1-mile course Steve Daly was the best finisher with a time of 11:39 and 3-year-old Aster Zavorka was the first female at 25:49.

In the 2-mile competition Eric Davis had a 18:27 for first place and Catherine Hensley was the best female finisher recording a 32:51.

In the 3-mile distance Lynn Bjorklund was the top female at 25:09.

Next week’s race will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 7 just off the traffic circle between North Mesa and Barranca Mesa. The parking area is by the tunnel under San Ildefonso Road. 1-mile paved and 2- and 3-mile trail runs will be available.
