
Mandie R. Pritchard, SFCC Associate Vice President for Student Affairs

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) has selected Mandie R. Pritchard as Associate Vice President (AVP) for Student Affairs. Pritchard was one of several candidates who participated in online forums with faculty and staff. Pritchard started working as AVP for Student Affairs on Monday, June 29.
Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Margaret Peters said, “SFCC is delighted that Mandie Pritchard has accepted the position. She brings an impressive combination of strategic leadership skills, along with compassion and dedication to students. Throughout her career she has focused on helping students overcome barriers so they can achieve their educational goals.”
Pritchard holds a master’s degree in counseling education from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in multicultural and career counseling and brings more than 15 years of experience in mental health, crisis, and career counseling.
Pritchard is excited to join SFCC’s leadership team. She said, “I look forward to collaborating with administrators, faculty and staff as well as community members to help SFCC students not only meet their educational needs, but also to thrive and become valuable members of their community.”
Pritchard has served in higher education leadership roles for more than two decades. She has exhibited her skills and strengths in community colleges in Oregon, as well as at the university level at the University of Oregon and the University of New Mexico. She has always emphasized making decisions that are centered on students’ well-being and providing equitable opportunities.
She recognizes the transformative power that community colleges have in changing people’s lives. Most recently she served as Dean of Student Supports at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. There she provided strategic oversight of a broad portfolio that included international programs, accessibility services, mental health and wellness, college access initiatives, testing, housing and an early childhood education lab.
Grounded in the community college mission, she has advanced integrated, student-centered services that support diverse, first-generation, and underserved populations, particularly in rural communities through partnerships with K–12 districts, community organizations and tribal nations.
Pritchard is a recognized leader in campus safety and student well-being, with expertise in behavioral intervention, threat assessment, and crisis response using trauma-informed and culturally responsive frameworks. She has led the development of behavior intervention and care teams and has experience overseeing student conduct, Title IX, ADA/504 compliance and federal regulations.
Pritchard has contributed to equity-focused efforts at both state and national levels, including service on the New Mexico Secretary of Education’s Assessment and Accountability Task Force and Oregon’s Higher Education Coordinating Commission Equity Advisory Committee. She also developed an equity-centered safety assessment guide for the Oregon Department of Education.
Nationally, Pritchard has led student leadership initiatives in partnership with organizations such as LULAC and the U.S. Air Force Junior ROTC.
An enrolled tribal member of the Pueblo of Acoma, Pritchard brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with Native and Indigenous communities, partnering with tribes across Oregon, New Mexico and the broader Southwest.
A respected leader and speaker, Pritchard is known for her collaborative approach, strategic vision, and dedication to advancing inclusive, high-impact student support systems within the community college context.
