A new name has emerged for the Dixie Girl Restaurant following a three-day survey published this week in the Los Alamos Daily Post. Community members cast 1,215 votes to rename the Dixie Girl Restaurant and chose The Manhattan Project by a sound margin.

Final results:
- The Manhattan Project: 439 votes – 36.58 percent
- Los Alamos Bar & Grill: 327 votes – 27.25 percent
- The Summit: 231 votes – 19.25 percent
- Ground Zero: 218 votes – 18.17 percent
Medina and his wife Patricia purchased the restaurant at 1789 Central Ave., in downtown Los Alamos in November from Denise Lane who moved to Albuquerque. The eatery offers a new pub menu, weekly liquor specials and provides live music Friday and Saturday nights. For information, call 505.662.1436.
