Twenty nine runners and walkers participated in Tuesday night’s pace race.
Two courses were available, a paved course on the shoulder of route 501 or a rugged and challenging course on an old wagon road in the hills overlooking S-site with magnificent vistas of the mesas to the east all the way to Rio Grande valley and beyond.
One mile course results:
- Susan Krohn (error adjusted for 3 miles) 72 seconds
- Inez Ross (error adjusted for 3 miles) 120 seconds
- Patricia Burnside (error adjusted for 3 miles) 144 seconds, also fastest runner with a time of 9:48
Three mile course results:
- Nikol Strother error of 63 seconds, also fastest runner with a time of 20:46
- David Kratzer error of 71 seconds
- Zach Medin error of 76 seconds
The June 3 pace race will begin at 6 p.m. at the corner of Barranca and Navajo Roads on Barranca Mesa.
