YMCA News:Registration is being taken at The Family YMCA and online for the 5th Annual Ed Griggs Memorial Golf Tournament set for Saturday, June 14. The tournament is a benefit that enables 70 youth to attend Summer Camp and Afterschool Care.
People may register at https:////www.tournevents.com and search for the Ed Griggs Memorial Golf Tournament, under the player sign-up area.
Play begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14 with a shotgun start/scramble. The tournament is renowned for its fun, interactive games of chance on the course, excellent prizes including the ability to win a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Sport, and great food. This affordable tournament is great for serious and first-time tournament players alike. The fee is $80 per person and teams of four people are required.
Ed Griggs was an avid golfer, master gardener, and longtime YMCA member/supporter. Aside from being a founding volunteer of the Golf Classic, he also volunteered many hours every year at Los Alamos Golf Course by planting the beautiful flowers around the club house and #1 tee.
