The New Mexico Master Gardner (NMMG) organization held its annual conference July 24-26 in Los Alamos.

Participants attended a variety of gardening workshops and toured downtown Los Alamos including stops at the Bradbury Science Museum, Los Alamos Historical Museum and the Smart Grid House.

The Bradbury Science Museum has some 40 interactive exhibits on display that trace the history of the WWII Manhattan Project and highlight Los Alamos National Laboratory’s current and historic research projects related to defense and technology.

At the Los Alamos Historical Museum, conference attendees participated in a guided tour through several historic buildings and exhibits.

The final stop of the tour was a visit to the Smart Grid House equipped with photovoltaics, a home energy management system and smart equipment and appliances for optimized power consumption.
