COUNTY News:
A small but extended power outage occurred Tuesday along La Senda Road in White Rock because of a failure on an underground line.
At 10:45 a.m., about 30 residents along La Senda Road were without power. About half of these customers (15) had their power restored by noon.
As DPU’s electric crews continued working to isolate and reroute power, a second problem was detected along a portion of nearby Piedra Loop, which brought power down from about 1:55 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. at that location. About 30 more customers were affected along Piedra Loop.
At about 3 p.m. Tuesday, the remaining 15 customers on La Senda had their power restored. The failed section is scheduled to be repaired today, Aug. 13. The DPU thanks customers for their patience while electric crews work to resolve the outage.
The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates the county-owned electric, gas, water and wastewater systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities. The Board meets the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at 1000 Central, Room 130. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
