Sue has come home to make the announcement, but finds herself stymied when she realizes that her fiancé, Felix, will be a huge disappointment to her family.

Felix pays an unexpected visit to the family and meets his potential in-laws, who include an obsessive ornithologist, a compulsive mezzo soprano, a murderous chef, an occasionally-mute savant and a socially challenged linguist. This crowd won’t be terribly impressed by Sue’s choice: Felix is (yawn) a civil engineer… .
Written by local playwright Tess Light, Tower of Magic explores family (especially “different” families), the pressures of conforming to family, as well as the pressures of conforming to society. Sue has a gift for exceptional magical creativity. Should she hide this gift, or embrace who she is?
