Letter to the Editor: United Way Youth Team Invites Community To ‘Taste the Sky’ Today

United Way Youth Team

I’m Jenna Erickson, chair of the United Way Youth Team. A few weeks ago, my teammate Emily Hopkins and I sent a letter promoting our first event of this year’s campaign Dinner Over Diamond. We had a wonderful turnout, and we are so very grateful to everyone who came to it. Thank you all.

I am back this time with the announcement of our next exciting event – Taste the Sky – taking place 4-7 p.m. today, Sept. 28 where we will serve dinner at the Los Alamos Airport. My teammates and I are very excited to present this event to the community and hope everyone is able to come and join us.

Now a word from Taste the Sky producer Akane Dunn:

Hi everyone! My name is Akane Dunn, and I have had the pleasure of producing this year’s Taste the Sky for the United Way Youth Team. This event provides a unique dining experience in that guests will be eating on the airport tarmac, literally!

This year’s international theme will be executed by catering from La Cocina, as well as another very special addition. Several students of Cindy Eaton, a teacher of English as a second language at UNM-Los Alamos, will be bringing desserts and bread from their native countries to share. I’m really excited, and I hope everyone will have an amazing time at Taste the Sky experiencing different countries of the world!

Thank you so much! We hope to see you there!
