Soumyo Lahiri-Gupta Of Los Alamos Sets Sights On Becoming First U.S. President Of Indian Descent

Soumyo Lahiri-Gupta, 18, traveled home to Los Alamos from Albuquerque to cast his first vote in a General Election Thursday. Signing in at the Municipal Building with poll worker Linda Fox, Gupta-Lahiry explained that he is majoring in political science at UNM and his goal is to become the first president of the United States of Indian descent. Lahiri-Gupta graduated from Los Alamos High School last year where he served as student body president. He participated in many school and community activities and organizations. Photo by Carol A.
