John Stanhope

By CATHY RENEE STANHOPE

To honor the sacrifice of John Stanhope – Pearl Harbor Veteran, who passed away Aug. 25, the American Legion Post #75 in Jemez Springs will host a Post Everlasting Ceremony and building fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 25.

Stanhope wanted a new American Legion building to honor the veterans who served before him, during his military service, those who served after him, and those serving now. He stated, “The veterans deserve a new building for their sacrifice and service for our great country – America!”

Per Stanhope’s last request, all proceeds will go toward the American Legion Building Fund. Anyone unable to attend may send donations to American Legion Hall Post #75 – John Stanhope, P.O. Box 214, Jemez Springs, NM 87025

Note: This event is to honor my dad and also to honor all veterans. Everyone knows at least one veteran who has served and might be serving now. This is a special day to come together as a community, to work toward a new building for our veterans. They are the ones who have made this country great, protected us and kept our freedom. God Bless America and our Veterans.
