Community members and county officials joined present and former staff to help celebrate 20 years since the dedication of the Mesa Public Library building at 2400 Central Ave. The event included art tours, architecture tours and refreshments by DD Bakery by L.I.A.
Guests were treated to 20 years of exhibits through representative pieces from 20 years of exhibits, arranged in chronological order beginning in the southwest corner of the gallery and continuing clockwise throughout the space.
The gallery was always the intention of the community and the architect Antoine Predock to be set aside as a public exhibition space. Since the building opened in 1994, the gallery has hosted more than 100 shows, including exhibits by individual artists, groups of artists and craftspeople and traveling exhibits from museums and universities.
