By TERRY GOLDMANThis is an unsolicited endorsement for the re-election of Marco Lucero as sheriff of Los Alamos County.
I have personally witnessed Sheriff Lucero’s commitment to reassuring citizens of Los Alamos of their safety at a public event, when concerns (warranted or not) arose. He did so freely, without even a direct request for a supplemental security presence, on his own initiative, and without any recompense. At the time, the LAPD, although they also contributed, could not provide the same level of a reassuring physical security presence.
In my opinion, this demonstrated that Sheriff Lucero has a strong commitment to the peace and security of the residents of Los Alamos County. He did just what you would hope that you could expect of an honest and decent public official in that capacity.
I urge all voters here to vote for his re-election, as I will.
