DPS New Year’s Enforcement Results

DPS News:

SANTA FE – From noon Dec. 31 to noon Jan. 01, the New Mexico State Police, along with Motor Transportation Police Department and the Special Investigation Division were proactive in making it a safe New Year’s for New Mexico residents, visitors and travelers.

The following is a breakdown of the enforcement activity.

State Police and Motor Transportation Police:

  • 11 Saturation Patrols were conducted.
  • 17 DWI Arrest were made.
  • 4 Injury Accidents were investigated.
  • 19 Non-Injury Accidents were investigated.
  • 2 Cell Phone Use citations were issued.
  • 79 Commercial Motor Vehicles were inspected.
  • 12 Commercial Motor Vehicles were placed out of service.
  • 3 Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers were placed out of Service.
  • 475 Speeding Citations were issued.
  • 43 Seatbelt Citations were issued.

Special Investigation Division:

  • 16 Administrative Citations for alcohol related violations were issued.
  • 22 Non-Traffic Citations were issued.
