Jess Clark, Education and Prevention Supervisor at Solace Crisis Treatment Center in Santa Fe gave two presentations today in Los Alamos entitled Beyond Blue and Pink – Transgender 101. The first presentation was at the Los Alamos Teen Center to a group of 16 people consisting of eight students and eight adults. The second presentation was held in the Smith’s Marketplace Conference Room where a light dinner was provided to 28 people by Los Alamos Medical Center. Clark focused on helping attendees understand that the sex a person is assigned to at birth may not be the sex they identify with their entire life. He clarified many terms such as gender identity, gender expression and trans male/ trans female and cis-male/cis female.
