ALBUQUERQUE – Attorney General Hector Balderas and Mothers Against Drunk Driving New Mexico (MADDNM) are teaming up to urge New Mexicans to plan ahead for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and not drive after drinking.

Attorney General Hector Balderas

“I am asking all New Mexicans to plan ahead this St. Patrick’s Day and not drive after drinking,” Attorney General Hector Balderas said. “Please keep our communities safe and plan ahead by finding a designated driver, scheduling a taxi or ridesharing service, or utilizing Safe Ride Home services in your area. Don’t put lives in danger and don’t risk getting stopped by local or state police.”

“We are all responsible to ourselves, and to our communities, to make several plans before we start drinking so we all get home safe. MADD New Mexico urges everybody to do your part to keep our roads safe this St. Paddy’s Day,” said MADD New Mexico State Director Aisha Smith.
