State Police Make Drug Trafficking Arrest On I-40

ALBUQUERQUE — Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, a New Mexico State Police officer stopped a gray Nissan sedan for speeding on Interstate 40 just west of Albuquerque.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Billy Wayne Wilson, 46, of Muskogee, Okla., reacted with suspicious behavior and indicated signs of possible criminal behavior. The State Police officer then generated a search warrant for Wilson’s vehicle. The warrant was signed by a judge and executed.

The search, which ensued produced 13.8 pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside a speaker box in the trunk of Wilson’s vehicle. Wilson was arrested on charges of Trafficking Controlled Substances and was later booked into the Metro Detention Center in Albuquerque.
