PEEC News:
Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s signature event, the annual Earth Day Festival, is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
This year’s celebration marks the one-year anniversary of the Los Alamos Nature Center. The festivities include food, planetarium shows, fun activities and live entertainment.
Schedule of Activities:
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Community booths will provide a variety of activities and information to celebrate Earth Day;
- 10:15 a.m. – a National Wildlife Federation representative will acknowledge Los Alamos as the first Community Wildlife Habitat in New Mexico;
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Recycle Man will provide interactive entertainment, sponsored by Los Alamos National Bank; and
- Noon – Hill Stompers perform

Planetarium Films :
- 11 a.m. – We are Astronomers, which reveals the global collaboration, technology, and dedication required to answer the unresolved questions of the Universe;
- Noon – Sea Monsters, A Prehistoric Adventure;
- 1 p.m. – Exoplanets explores what is known about planets outside the solar system; and
- 2 p.m. – Mysteries of the Unseen World uncovers aspects of life normally invisible to the human eye.
No parking will be available at the nature center. Instead, park at the Justice Center (across from the library) and ride free on the Atomic City Transit bus straight to the festival.

PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies.
