The Los Alamos Arts Council continues its 2015-2016 Brown Bag Performance Series with the Trio de Los Alamos at noon today in the sanctuary of the United Church. They will perform  works by composers Aarre Merikanto and Camille Saint-Saens.

The Trio, whose members are violinist Brian Newnam, pianist Cindy Little and cellist Shanalyn Kemme, have been playing together for 13 years. Brian and Cindy are former and current staff members of LANL and Shanalyn resides in Albuquerque where she is a staff member at Sandia National Laboratories. The Trio has been performing concerts each year in Los Alamos and Santa Fe.

The performance will begin at noon at the United Church of Los Alamos. The usual venue, Fuller Lodge, is being renovated.

The Brown Bag shows are a tradition in Los Alamos. Always free, always entertaining, the Brown Bag Performance series presents a wide range of programs, from Beethoven to ballet, opera to jazz, chamber music to bagpipes, these concerts have been entertaining Los Alamos music lovers on their midday breaks since 1973. Brown Bag Performances connect performers to the community. Performances are held at noon, usually on the first Wednesday of each month but dates may vary. Brown Bag is funded in part by the County of Los Alamos.
