Summary: The fire appears to be human caused and started during the night. Crews will continue to burn out unburned pockets and expect to have the fire 100% contained today. Smoke may be visible along the I-25 corridor from Pecos to Tecolote. Smoke reported on Thursday north of Pecos was drift from the Barbero Fire.
Structures Threatened: None.
Weather: The forecast is for temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s with a 60% chance of precipitation and winds in the 15-20 mph range with gusts up to 35 mph. Showers and thunderstorms with scattered lightning are likely.

- Firefighters: 25
- Engines: Three engines, including resources from Pecos/Las Vegas Ranger District and Española Ranger District. New Mexico State Forestry and the Rowe Mesa Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
