Lensic Receives Coveted 4-Star Rating

SANTA FE ― The Lensic Performing Arts Center is proud to announce it has received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. Only about one quarter of the more than 8,000 charities rated by Charity Navigator achieve this distinction.
 
Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that The Lensic “adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator in a letter to The Lensic. “This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets the Lensic Performing Arts Center apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”

The rating shows that 78.4 percent of the organization’s budget goes to program expenses, while only 13.8 percent of expenses go to administrative costs. This balance is an essential component to the success of organization.

The Lensic hosts more than 200 eclectic performances throughout the year, delivering outstanding local, national, and international talent while also serving as a center for the community with education programs, youth events, and accessible and affordable programming. In addition to presenting its signature Lensic Presents performance series, The Lensic is the host venue for local arts organizations, including Performance Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Symphony, Santa Fe Pro Musica, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet.
