At 5 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, projectY cowork Los Alamos will serve as the venue for the next Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) non-profit training event.
In this interactive session, CPA Dennis Kennedy will discuss accounting and taxation issues related to non-profits for 2016, impacting 2017, including:
- Taxation for Non-Profits / Unrelated Business Income
- Year-End Reporting Requirements for Non-Profits
- Revenue Recognition/Classification, Including Allowable and Non-Allowable Expenses
- Non-Profit Audit Requirements Based on Revenue Source
- Reconciling Fund Balances
- Financial Budgeting
The presentation will be approximately 20 minutes, allowing for 25 minutes of Q&A. Non-profits don’t need to be currently registered with the Los Alamos Community Foundation to attend.
