LIBRARY News:

Several of Los Alamos’ finest teen poets will read their work to the public at 1 p.m. Saturday in the White Rock Branch Library at 10 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock. All are students of Los Alamos High School teacher Michelle Holland, and all of them have been honing their work and practicing their readings with Ms. Holland’s coaching. This is the third event in the series of poetry readings held in the White Rock Branch Library in honor of National Poetry Month.

Ms. Holland teaches three poetry classes at Los Alamos High School. Three of the poets in her classes were acknowledged in the Pasatiempo Winter Writing contest in December. Several of the poets have collaborated on group poems.

The White Rock Branch Library is also the home of the Library System’s “Poe-Tree” which encourages everyone with a poem to add a leaf with that poem to the tree.
