Scattered throughout the report are dozens of “Moments of Opportunities”, which include commendations from grateful residents and visitors on situations where the Department provided extra assistance or participated in community events.
The report also details the extensive training of Department staff in many areas of expertise and describes in detail the responsibilities of the Support, Operations, Staff Services, and Emergency Services bureaus.
Sgambellone said he is honored and proud to present the report to the community. He personally thanked the men and women of the LAPD for their ongoing strength, courage and professionalism during 2016, which he called “a difficult year for law enforcement across the nation”.
