LACF: Training On Volunteer Recruitment Thursday

LACF News:

Volunteer recruitment will be the topic at 5 p.m. Thursday at the nonprofit training session at UNM-LA’s Wallace Hall, hosted by Los Alamos Community Foundation:

  • Preparing Your Nonprofit to Participate in  the “Volunteer Fair At Chamberfest”
  • Thursday, May 25, 5 p.m.
  • UNM-LA, Wallace Hall in Bldg. 5

Martha Katko of Leadership Los Alamos will discuss best practices when recruiting volunteers and give tips for avoiding pitfalls after a potential volunteer has expressed interest. Katko also will provide information about the June 10 “Volunteer Fair at Chamberfest.” The all-new format for this event does not require nonprofits to devote costly resources to participate. Nonprofits that rely on volunteers to accomplish their mission should attend this training to learn more.

Nonprofit executive directors, staff, board members and volunteers are all always welcome at all monthly LACF nonprofit training sessions. RSVP to Laura.Crotzer@losalamoscf.org to attend and to ensure enough handouts are available for everyone.

Los Alamos Community Foundation facilitates and promotes local philanthropy, highlights unmet needs and investment opportunities within Los Alamos County, and meets those needs through financial and organizational support to existing and new organizations. LACF partners with UNM-LA and the LANL Foundation to provide monthly nonprofit training sessions. To learn more, visit www.losalamoscf.org.
