ProcessQM, LLC, a quality management company based in Northern New Mexico, announced it is hosting quality training sessions in Los Alamos the week of July 10-14 in partnership with Project Management Institute Otowi Bridge NM Chapter, Theseus Professional Services, Nuclear Training Institute, and United Controls International.
Two courses, focused primarily on NQA-1 quality assurance, will be held at the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce at 109 Central Park Square.
“While the data is too restricted to conduct a thorough analysis on each industry, our experience with quality audits and quality failures indicate that a lot of the issues arise from inadequate training,” said Lena Isaacs, Owner and President of ProcessQM, LLC. “At ProcessQM, we find it alarming that New Mexico has limited resources available to help local organizations learn about the quality assurance standards they are expected to follow. As a result, while many organizations claim to have a strong quality program, not all of them execute it effectively. We are on a mission to strengthen New Mexico business communities by building stronger quality cultures in the organizations we serve.”
According to Isaacs, ProcessQM is currently targeting one of the toughest nuclear quality assurance standards called NQA-1 because many of the local organizations and government agencies often struggle to identify qualified NQA-1 suppliers.
“Although the demand is sporadic, when it does hit, it is often difficult to locate suppliers that are qualified as NQA-1 suppliers, or that are familiar with the requirements of the program,” said Chris Fresquez, Small Business Program Office Manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory. “This may be an opportunity for suppliers to learn more about NQA-1 and decide if that is an area that they wish to expand into.”
