Seniors Ruby Selvage, Janelle Pena and Michealle Sutton spoke at Rotary recently to describe their experiences at Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) camp in the Manzano Mountains last month. All were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Los Alamos. More than 100 girls from Rotary District 5520 (New Mexico and West Texas) attended the camp, which included team-building, inspirational speakers, a ropes course, recreation, and a project in which they prepared 42,000 packages of food (252,000 servings) for distribution through Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque. The project was spearheaded by Los Alamos Rotarian Alison Pannell in partnership with Meals of Hope, Rotary International, District 5520, and by donors Rotarian Chuck Tallman and wife Janet.
