It is with sincerest sorrow that we announce the passing of Pinon School’s beloved second grade class pet, Monster, the bearded dragon.
As a youngster, Monster will be remembered for amazing students with his escape artist skills, climbing the walls and ceiling, observing students work from the ceiling fan and dive bombing onto visitors.
In his more mature years, he is remembered for being a patient and encouraging audience for student readers, for strolling through the grass on his leash, and for being a kind, patient listener and confidant. He never betrayed a friend’s trust or secrets.
Teacher Marcella Nogar would like to thank all the families who let Monster vacation at their homes, the students who brought him his favorite foods (crickets and carrots), and all the children who loved and cared for him and delighted in his presence in the classroom during the past 14 years.
