NMWC News:
The New Mexico Wildlife Center invites the public to its annual Open House 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 7-8 at 19 Wheat St. in Espanola.
Activities include:
- Live Animal Demonstrations;
- Owl Pellet Dissection and Kids’ Art Activities;
- Tour the Rehabilitation Hospital Unit (free if you bring a wish list item*);
- Silent Auction;
- New Displays and Photo Opportunities; and
- Refreshments.
Although there is no charge for the event, there is a suggested donation of $5 per vehicle for parking. This event is a fundraiser for the New Mexico Wildlife Center, a non-profit organization supported entirely through donations and grants. The organization works to conserve and restore native wildlife and their habitats through action-oriented education, promotion of public awareness, strategic partnerships and responsible wildlife rehabilitation.

The New Mexico Wildlife Center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
*The wish list can be found at https:////www.newmexicowildlifecenter.org/content.php?content=support. Some needed items include unscented laundry soap, wild finch canary food, green leaf and romaine lettuce, AAA batteries, cat litter, white vinegar, mop heads and gift cards.
