Countdown On For Ski Season At Pajarito Mountain!

With fall in the air, now is the time to view the changing colors and enjoy a fun-filled weekend at Pajarito Mountain this Friday through Sunday!  
 
Pajarito is hosting its popular, annual festival, Ullr Fest Saturday, Sept. 23. New this year, there will be FREE mountain bike lessons, a meet and greet with Pajarito’s new mountain bike director Hogan Koesis, and a free guided hike as part of the annual event’s festivities. 
 
Ullr Fest celebrates the coming winter by featuring New Mexico craft beer, with nearly a dozen local breweries in attendance, as well as live music, lift served hiking and mountain biking, free bike lessons, mountain bike races, a disc golf tournament, a costume contest and more. 
 
Enjoy lift-served hiking and mountain biking at Pajarito from 1-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23-24. The leaves are starting to change at Pajarito, so now is the time to come see the beautiful fall foliage. Chairlift tickets for bikes are $25 and hikers are $10.
 
At 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, the Pajarito Environmental Education Center is working with Los Alamos Mountaineers to offer a 10-mile hike with Evan Rose from town to the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. Enjoy incredible views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains during the six hour trek. Mountain Bike Events! The downhill Strava mountain bike race takes place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, as well as the Poker Run Mountain Bike Ride. Meet Hogan Koesis, Mountain Bike Director for Pajarito Mountain/Mountain Capital Partners at 2:30pm Saturday at the Pajarito Mountain sign. Receive FREE mountain bike lessons 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
 
Participate in the disc golf tournament at 10am on Saturday. The New Mexico Craft Beer Festival is Saturday fromnoon to 5 p.m. with a $15 entry fee (proceeds benefit the Los Alamos Ski Club), along with live Tex Mex and Zydeco music by Felix y Los Gatos with special guest Broanch Celtic Blues. Craft breweries include Bathtub Row, Blue Corn, Bosque, Boxing Bear, La Cumbre, Marble, Red Door, Santa Fe, Taos Mesa, Second Street, and 377.
 
Pajarito’s mountain crew has been busy over the summer, preparing for the coming ski season, which kicks off Nov. 24. Other upcoming events include the annual Work Party & Pit BBQ Sat., Oct. 7, and the Los Alamos Ski Swap on Sat., Oct. 21.
