COUNTY News:
Only two days remain to review and comment on the County’s Economic Vitality Strategic Plan 2019 (EVSP19) using Open Forum, the County’s on-line survey instrument.
The EVSP19 presents a 10-year vision of what is desired for the Los Alamos community’s future, within the context of the current and predicted economic environment.
This plan was created by the members of the County Manager’s Economic Vitality Action Team (EVAT), and advisory group comprised of County department representatives, as well as members of relevant industries who are committed to the economic prosperity of Los Alamos, including the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration, Los Alamos National Laboratory, University of New Mexico-Los Alamos, Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation and representatives of the finance, real estate, community development industries and the public at-large.
The EVSP19 replaces the original plan developed and adopted by the County Council on April 5, 2010, providing progress made on the goals and tactics, as well as an update on the current economic influencers, and the strategic plans created during the past nine years. The current version of the EVSP was initially presented at the May 5, 2018 Council work session and was tabled by the Council at the time.
The current update will incorporate the current Council’s priorities and will consider input from the Los Alamos community. Visit Open Forum and the EVSP survey here: https://www.opentownhall.com/portals/119/Issue_7277
You will be asked to rank the goals and tactics presented in the survey. Individuals do not need to register with Open Forum to weigh in with comments and can remain Anonymous. Results will be given to EVAT members in a report generated by the Open Forum software, for them to consider at their meeting April 16.
