NMDOT News:ALBUQUERQUE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Division (NMDOT TSD) and Safer New Mexico Now will host a Car Seat Inspection Clinic from 1-3 p.m., Friday, April 12, at Albuquerque Fire Station #7, 5715 Central Ave., NW.
This free educational event provides parents and caregivers the opportunity to receive “hands-on” instruction from nationally-certified child passenger safety technicians. Technicians will educate parents on the proper selection, installation, and use of car seats and booster seats. Technicians can also determine if a seat is recalled, expired, or otherwise unsafe.
Technicians will spend approximately 30 minutes per seat educating parents on the correct use and installation. Parents and caregivers must bring the car seat and, if possible, the child. There is no charge for this service, however a seat replacement fee may apply.
Car Seat Inspection Clinics are a public service funded by the NMDOT TSD and is available to everyone. Appointments are encouraged. For more information, or to make an appointment, call 505.856.6143.
