David Hampton is a candidate for Position 3 on the UNM-Los Alamos Advisory Board. He filed this afternoon with the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office. Since his retirement from Los Alamos National Laboratory 2.5 years ago, Hampton has been seeking opportunities to become more involved with the community, he said. He currently serves on the board of the Los Alamos Food Co+op. On the UNM-LA Advisory Board, Hampton would seek to continue and build upon collaborations between the college and Los Alamos National Laboratory and the business community to fill the need for skilled workers. He would work to help community organizations work together to solve problems, he said. ‘I’d like to see UNM-LA become a four-year school sometime in the future,’ Hampton said. Photo by Bonnie J.
