LAGC News:
The Los Alamos Garden Club (LAGC) will host its Annual Plant Sale, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road.
Perennials, house plants and succulents will be available for purchase. Club members will be there to discuss the plants and how to care for them.
A wide selection of beautiful garden aprons also will be available. Both full bib aprons and short half aprons have been lovingly and skillfully crafted by Garden Club members.
Proceeds from the sale go to LAGC’s scholarship fund, which the club awards each year to a graduating high school senior. In addition to providing the scholarship, the club holds monthly meetings, sponsors an annual rose pruning workshop, maintains the Fuller Lodge Rose Garden, and awards prizes at the annual Los Alamos Public Schools Science and Technology Fair.
The club also holds other events throughout the year for fundraising and public education.
LAGC was created in 1947 to stimulate local interest in gardening, aid in protection and conservation of natural resources, and promote community beautification. The public and new members are always welcome!
