Udall, Heinrich Endorse Ben Ray Luján For U.S. Senate

Senatorial Candidate Ben Ray Luján

STATE News:

Nambé – U.S. Senators Tom Udall (D-NM) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) announced today their endorsement of Ben Ray Luján for the U.S. Senate.

I am proud to endorse my friend and colleague Ben Ray Luján to be the next U.S. Senator from New Mexico. Having served with Ben Ray, it’s clear that he will be a strong champion for New Mexico. He will continue the hard work of reforming and strengthening our democracy, ending the reign of dark, secret money in our politics, and protecting our public lands and combatting climate change, Udall said. I am confident that Ben Ray will carry forward the causes I have fought for throughout my service in the Senate, and that he will fight for New Mexico families. I’m looking forward to partnering with him in the future when he is New Mexico’s next senator.

I look forward to serving with Ben Ray and continuing to have a strong partner in the U.S. Senate to protect and uplift New Mexicos families, Heinrich said. I’ve seen firsthand how hard Ben Ray works to serve our communities – from advocating for good-paying opportunities for New Mexicans to expanding health care and protecting our public lands.

Luján is running for the seat Sen. Udall will vacate at the end of the 116th Congress. He has previously been endorsed by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, End Citizens United, New Mexico Rep. Deb Haaland, Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, the Brady Campaign, Council for a Liveable World, AFSCME, and thousands of New Mexicans from the state’s 33 counties.
