LAHS Senior Preslie Coffey To Run Track At UNM

Los Alamos High School senior Preslie Coffey has signed a Letter of Commitment to run track for the University of New Mexico.

Coffey signed her letter Friday at her home surrounded by her family.

Coffey has been a team captain for the LAHS track team for the last two years. In 2019, she placed 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles and was part of the winning 4×4 relay team at State Championships.

She also earned the 2019 Dick Stolpe Track and Field Athlete of the Year and was a member of the Los Alamos Girls Soccer team.

Coffey said she is going to miss her teammates like crazy and she is grateful to her coaches for their time and encouragement!

Excelling equally in the classroom, Coffey earned the UNM Scholars Academic Scholarship. She is undecided on her major.

Coffey is the daughter of Justin and Amber Coffey of Los Alamos.
