Air Force public information meeting cancelled
KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE – Due to social distancing requirements issued by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in her April 6 Executive Order 2020-022, the Air Force is cancelling the April 30 Bulk Fuels Facility Project public meeting.
“It’s unfortunate that we are forced to cancel this opportunity to inform local residents of our progress,” said Kate Lynnes, Senior Advisor for the BFF Project. “But public safety is the first priority. We are still hard at work on our cleanup efforts. Quarterly groundwater and soil vapor monitoring is on schedule and the groundwater treatment system is operating at full capacity. We hope see you at our July 23 BFF Open House.”
In addition, the Air Force is pleased to announce that we have recently reached an agreement with the New Mexico Veterans Memorial to host the Public Information Repository at the Veterans Memorial facility. This service will be open to the public once state health and travel restrictions are lifted.
