CIRCLE K News:

ALBUQUERQUE — Circle K, the global convenience store chain, has concluded its Fueling Food Banks program to support those affected by hunger in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic and surpassed its goal.

Through an initiative in which one meal* is provided for every fuel transaction made at a Circle K, the brand has donated 430,570 meals to the Roadrunner Food Bank, and over 40.6 million meals nationwide.

“Our mission as a company has always been to make our customers’ lives a little easier every day. I want to thank all of our employees and customers for being part of the solution in the communities where we work and live, and for helping Circle K make it easier for so many families in need during these difficult days,” said Circle K President and CEO Brian Hannasch.

As more than 54 million people in the United States are lacking food security, a 63%˟ increase prior to the COVID-19 crisis, and food banks across the country are struggling to meet the staggering demand, Circle K is committed to doing its part.

Mag Strittmatter, president and CEO of Roadrunner Food Bank said, “The impact of COVID-19 has meant an increased need for funds, food, and volunteers as new faces are visiting our food distribution sites. The help of ‘Fueling Food Banks’ will help Roadrunner Food Bank as we work with our hunger relief partners throughout New Mexico to ensure that everyone in our community has healthy, nutritious food during this challenging time.”
