A bear is spotted at approximately 11 a.m. today in a backyard off Sycamore Street, between 41st and 42nd streets near Urban Park. Police responded and advised onlookers to give the bear room. Eight hours later as darkness approached the bear is still in the same place in the same tree and onlookers are not a problem. Photo by Chris Lovejoy
This bear was not attended by cubs, although this morning there were reports of a bear with cubs near Mountain Elementary School (just to the north) and near the intersection of North Road and Quemazon (just to the south). Photo by Chris Lovejoy
