Deadline Extended To Submit Letter Of Interest For Los Alamos School Board Vacancy

The deadline to submit a letter of interest for the Los Alamos School Board vacancy left by the departure of Julia Baker has been extended to Aug. 20.

The vacant seat represents District 4, which includes Barranca Mesa Elementary School and Los Alamos Middle School.

Click here to view the boundary map. The term will begin Sept. 1 and run through Dec. 31, 2021.

“Being a school board member is a rewarding experience,” School Board President Ellen Ben-Naim said. “We have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students, parents and staff.”

Applicants must be a registered voter, over 18 years of age, and reside in District 4. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and a resume to the board secretary, Debra Larson, at d.larson@laschools.net.
