New Mexico Magazine News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico Magazine is teaming up with KOB 4 Thursday evening to host the New Mexico Magazine True Heroes through Facebook Live.

This event will spotlight exceptional individuals who have distinguished themselves during the past 12 months by going above and beyond to serve our communities in the areas of healthcare, education, volunteerism, philanthropy, hospitality, arts, culture, and more.

The Facebook Live broadcast begins at 7 p.m. (MT) and will be streamed through New Mexico Magazine’s Facebook channel.

“We are all in need of stories of hope, perseverance and innovation as we continue to battle this pandemic,” Cabinet Secretary Jen Paul Schroer said. “Learning about the generosity of these individuals makes us all proud to be New Mexican and committed to the betterment of our community and our state.”

“For almost a century, New Mexico Magazine has shared the stories of New Mexico through the caring people of our state,” said New Mexico Magazine CEO/Publisher Edward Graves. “We are humbled by the actions of each hero we are highlighting this year.”

The December issue of New Mexico Magazine will feature the 10 True Hero honorees, and KOB 4 will be showcasing the honorees during broadcast segments throughout December.

The award-winning magazine, in partnership with the New Mexico Tourism Department, also publishes the official New Mexico True Adventure Guide. Founded in 1923, New Mexico Magazine reigns as the longest-tenured state magazine in the United States, while ranking as the third-largest state-owned publication in circulation.

About New Mexico True:

The New Mexico Tourism Department created the New Mexico True brand in response to common misconceptions that New Mexico is a dry, arid, barren desert state with nothing to do. Built upon the idea that a trip to New Mexico is an “adventure that feeds the soul,” the brand advertising campaign provides a platform for unified messaging for more than 50 communities and 300 businesses around the state. Since the launch of the brand in 2012, the economic impact of tourism in New Mexico has grown for nine consecutive years.
