LAPS News:
With FDA approval of the Pfizer COVID vaccine, New Mexico DOH has developed a state vaccination plan.
It is posted on this website.
The plan may soon change because an FDA panel has recently recommended emergency authorization of a second vaccine, which was developed by Maderna.
Here is a high-level summary of the NMDOH plan:
Phase 1: Health Care workers (currently being implemented);
Phase 2: People with chronic health conditions and those in congregate care like nursing homes and homeless shelters. Also included are EMTs, firefighters and people over the age of 65; and
Phase 3: Includes teachers and school personnel (could be summer 2021 or sooner).
