Join Slow Food Santa Fe for a fun, informative and delightful journey into northern New Mexico’s food history with award winning author, farmer and researcher Liddie Martinez, most recently author of The Chile Line: Historic Northern New Mexico Recipes.
Martinez has deep roots in the Española Valley. She learned about farming and food preparation from her grandmother and mother, and a great deal about the history of food in the southwest from her work on the establishment of El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail.
Martinez will take viewers on a journey from Mexico in the 1600s up to Española and beyond and into the present time.
The community is invited to join Martinez for this exciting and informative adventure 5 p.m. Thursday, May 20.
