Daily Postcard: The Solar Tree sculpture in the west plaza at the Municipal Building on Central Avenue. Artist Eric Thelander designed the 18-foot tall steel and aluminum sculpture with solar components above the leaves to create a self-lighting electrically powered piece that encourages public participation through ports for electrical devices and tables and benches beneath the tree.
